The nature of Iceland is breathtaking. You can explore everything from glaciers and natural hot springs to volcanoes, geysers, black sand beaches and impressive lava fields to waterfalls and sculptural mountains. Stunning Aurora Borealis (Northern lights) happen from September to early April when the sky gets dark as Iceland has only daylight during summer. In Iceland, you are almost guaranteed to spot humpback whales and most whale-watching tours will take you to seaside cliffs to observe puffins. You can take a dip in a geothermal lake or hot springs which are all over Iceland.
